Here’s where your journey starts…
We would like to welcome to you to Abbey Lane Primary School. We form part of the Peak Edge Multi-academy Trust. Before you begin your journey with us, we would like to make sure that you are as prepared as possible for the road ahead. This is where your induction begins! Please read the information below and watch the relevant induction videos. After that, there is a short quiz to submit before arranging your face-to-face induction.

Preparation for your face-to-face induction
Before going into school, please have a look at the policies on our policies page in particular, our Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy.
Take time to read and understand part 1 of the most recent version of Keeping Children Safe In Education. It is extremely important that you have read this document before beginning your employment at the school.
Please also take a moment to look at the policies on our Peak Edge Multi-academy Trust website, especially the Health & Safety Policy and the Code of Conduct.
Everyone who works in school needs to be fully aware of Safeguarding policies and procedures. Take time to have a look at the Sheffield Safeguarding Induction Pack.

Please read through the DFE’s Information Sharing - Advice for practioners providing safeguarding services for children, young people, parents and carers.
Please read through the Use of Reasonable Force Advice for headteachers, staff and governing bodies.
Please read through and sign the Acceptable Use Policy and Agreement.
Please complete the Home Office PREVENT Duty Training https://www.gov.uk/guidance/prevent-duty-training and email your certificate to school.
Please complete the National Cyber Security Centre training and email your certificate to school https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/information/cyber-security-training-schools
If you are over 18, you will need a DBS check. If you have one already, please bring it with you. The school will need to ensure that it is transferable. If you are unsure, please contact the school in order to resolve any issues quickly.

What to do next?
Once you have completed the induction activities above, and you have submitted your Induction Quiz, please contact the school to let us know that you are ready for your face-to-face induction. At this point, we can arrange a time to come into school and tell you the information you will need to work at Abbey Lane Primary School. We can talk about who you will be working with, when your start date will be, what you will be doing etc. If you haven’t done so already, we will also be able to take you on a tour of the school to familiarise yourself with the setting.
